Actively coach and develop the performance of all members of the team, regularly review outputs, set improvement targets and appraise individuals. Lead, manage and co-ordinate a small finance systems team to ensure that the core finance systems and key users are supported and issues addressed and rectified utilising resources from with finance, IT and the broader organisation. Manage the finance project portfolio, ensuring a good understanding of their interdependencies, resource appropriately and prioritise when necessary. Lead on any large-scale system enhancements and changes within finance ensuring it is in line with the project methodology. Lead on new finance system implementations, in particular, but not limited to the new Oracle ERP, engaging with key stakeholders and ensuring delivery within the agreed timeframes and budget. Be an active member of relevant Programme Boards and Steering Groups, as required, to ensure effective and efficient deployment of resources and to ensure we have the appropriate governance. Provide finance expertise for any other change programme within the wider portfolio of projects to ensure all finance requirements have been met and considered. Lead and develop a strategy to continually improve and embed change culture within the Group Finance team. Work collaboratively with internal/external stakeholders to define an approach to create the finance roadmap for future developments of all processes and systems. Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to lead the strategic direction of the finance systems, keeping abreast with technological changes. Work with key stakeholders to develop and ensure all necessary policies and procedures have been created to ensure the sound financial management and control of the company’s business. Deputise for other senior leaders when required. Respond to queries from internal customer and stakeholders, ensuring that the response is timely and compliant with the relevant process and control frameworks. Ensure that all data protection requirements are met in accordance with Group policy, procedures and statutory requirements. Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure effective delivery of the wider service. Person specification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential Proven track record of building successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders Ability to present financial information to a variety of audiences Ability to work flexibly to meet business requirements Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to lead change Experience of leading and managing change Experience of financial systems development and implementation in large, complex organisations Experience in designing and implementing finance operating models Additional Information To fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to be on site at Head Office, Liverpool for one to two days per week on average, or for specific meetings as required. The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there may be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role.
