Millfields First School is looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Inclusion Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work 1:1 or in small groups with children who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
About the Role:
1. Providing tailored support for children with additional needs, including those with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and other learning differences.
2. Working closely with class teachers and SEND staff to adapt learning materials and strategies.
3. Using creative and engaging approaches to make learning accessible and enjoyable.
4. Supporting children in developing their social, emotional, and communication skills.
5. Helping to implement EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) targets and personalised learning plans.
6. Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported.
What We’re Looking For:
1. A kind, patient, and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting children with SEND.
2. Experience working with children with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
3. A calm and adaptable approach, able to respond to different learning styles and behaviours.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals.
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all pupils.
