We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Early Help team, supporting children and families in reaching their full potential.
You will have awareness of Elective Home Education Legislation, and the impact of positive education and learning experiences for children and young people. You will ensure their voices are heard and that they are safe and protected.
As a member of the Early Help Service, you will take on responsibilities from day one, while receiving the necessary support to apply your skills and experience, ensuring that families and young people receive the highest quality support.
The role includes, although is not limited to:
Providing effective delivery of statutory and strategic duties regarding Elective Home Education (EHE), ensuring children in Bracknell Forest are receiving suitable education based on age, aptitude, and special educational needs.
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, promptly address safeguarding concerns, referring to appropriate services when necessary and maintain accurate records for all home education provision.
Ensuring data integrity and compliance by overseeing the registration process, managing data systems, handling sensitive information requests, and submitting statutory reports to support informed decision-making and policy development.
As a team member you will contribute to our ‘can do’ approach by being flexible and responsive to the unique needs of each family, child, and young person you are supporting. You will need to combine the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting team colleagues and representing the service where this is required.
The Early Help Service consists of a multi-disciplinary team that works with children, young people, and families.
The Education Welfare Service comprises a team of highly skilled officers in a variety of roles to implement the statutory guidance Working together to improve school attendance - GOV.UK to help schools, trusts, governing bodies, and local authorities maintain high levels of school attendance and improve consistency of support.
The team works in partnership with external and internal key agencies, schools, and families to support with all elements of school attendance. They track Children Missing Education, have responsibility for supporting the Elective Home Educated community and assessing suitability of education, supporting with Emotional Based School Avoidance, and improving school attendance. In addition, Child Employment and Entertainment Licencing is another element of the team. EWS also carry out the legal duties in respect of school non-attendance.
