Occupational Therapy Administrator - F/T 6 months

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We are looking to employ a dynamic, confident, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Occupational Therapy team to manage the administrative processes of the OT service.
In this role you will work closely with the Professional Lead of Occupational Therapy, undertaking an array of responsibilities and tasks to support the smooth running of the Therapies service.
You will have excellent communication and IT skills, be proactive and have experience of working in administrative roles.

Main duties of the job
* To work closely with the Professional Lead of Occupational Therapy and assist in the timely and accurate completion of a variety of essential service tasks.
* To be able to work unsupervised and meet deadlines as necessary.
* To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team and the public, promoting good working relationships.
* To be an Occupational Therapy receptionist and patient contact clerk working in the Battle Block Outpatients and Therapies department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
* To work effectively as a team member in carrying out administrative duties to assist clinicians in their roles.
* To participate in providing a high quality, effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service.
* To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
Person Specification
Knowledge/Skills & Experience
* Education to GCSE level including English and Maths
* ECDL or equivalent qualification in IT literacy
* Secretarial experience or experience of handling high volume patient bookings/call centre work
* Proven experience of working with the general public
* Understanding of hospital working
* Previous experience of working in a health or social care environment
* Previous NHS experience
* Knowledge of EPR
Communication and personal skills
* Able to communicate effectively with those who have difficulty communicating
* Experience of working in a team
* Able to cope with a busy working environment
