Job Title: Planner

Role Information:
The Planner is responsible for compiling the construction schedule in accordance with established processes and procedures. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders across all directorates to ensure optimal provisions of services, ensuring the capability to deliver the required scope. Additionally, the planner works with teams to develop a future overview of requirements to inform resource needs. The planner reports to and receives direction from the Framework Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, lead and maintain the construction schedule
2. Keep the schedule current, aligning it with the most recent demand workbook, key dates, enabling works and critical activities
3. Ensure all necessary activities are built into the schedule which are key to start the work (access, procurement, physical work) and logic is applied
4. Maintain proactive communication with the construction team and other stakeholders
5. Resource Load the schedule where possible
6. Include SRR Information and mark activities requiring scaffolding
7. Ensure there are no gaps in the schedule
8. Capture and explain any slippage, providing a comparison snapshot of start dates from the previous period
9. Highlight the top ten priorities as provided
10. Validate start dates by comparing them to the P6 baselines
11. Check enabling activities within schedules to ensure confidence in start dates
12. Maintain the schedule including progression of activities
13. Distribute the schedule to relevant parties, ensuring access arrangements are included in resource plans
14. Hold regular meetings with the construction team
15. Experience in a Project Planning role
16. Proficiency with Primavera P6 planning software
17. Attention to detail and good numerical skills
18. Ability to prioritise work to meet project scope, time and cost requirements
19. Adherence to corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures to ensure consistency and quality
20. Proactively identify and communicate improvements to the team
21. Maintain integrity and positive relationships with colleagues
22. Problem-solving skills and ability to apply and communicate solutions
23. Capable of managing and prioritising own work
24. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
25. Experience with delivering programs under NEC governance
