Job summary 37.5 hours per week - 12 Months Fixed Term We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Teams. The team offers diagnostic assessments to children where there are concerns regarding Autism Spectrum Conditions or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The post holder will be a fully integrated member of the multidisciplinary team and work alongside our qualified Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Specialist Mental Health Practitioners to assist with a variety of clinical tasks. The role would suit those who love working with children and young people and have an interest in diagnostic assessments alongside psychological formulations. We are also looking for applicants who intend to pursue a career in clinical psychology and who wish to apply for the doctorate training. Appropriate training will be provided and you will receive regular clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist. Main duties of the job The role will include, but is not limited to, taking referrals from professionals over the telephone, completing school observations, assisting in assessment clinics, administering the QB test and cognitive assessments, such as the WISC-V and WAIS- IV, and contributing to service improvements and evaluation. You will need to be highly motivated, a quick learner and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to have a good understanding of the key features of autism and ADHD.
