Job Summary: We are seeking a Group Technical Designer to oversee and maintain our Technical Design Standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple regions. This role will involve translating conceptual designs into practical, regulation-compliant guidelines, and providing ongoing support to regional teams in applying these standards to house designs. Key Responsibilities: Manage Technical Design Standards: Own and update the Technical Design Standards and Construction Specifications documentation within the central library, ensuring version control. Convert conceptual designs into practical, regionally compliant guidelines, adhering to both local and national regulations. Support Regional Compliance: Work closely with regional teams to ensure accurate application of Technical Standards in house designs. Address and mitigate any exceptions or modifications requested by Local Planning Authorities. Conduct Site Build Assessments: Perform on-site assessments to ensure adherence to Technical Guidance. Identify discrepancies, develop corrective actions, and update Technical Guidance as needed, particularly when common issues arise across regions. NHBC Compliance: Ensure all house type and detailed drawings meet NHBC (National House Building Council) standards and other necessary regulations. Consultant and Supplier Coordination: Confirm that all consultant and supplier information is aligned with the core house type designs, ensuring smooth integration and availability of necessary support information. Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices: Provide regions with the expertise, rationale, and best practices required to implement Technical Standards. Share knowledge on effective compliance and design strategies. Escalation Point: Act as a point of escalation for regional issues, including responding to challenging requests from local inspectors, authorities, and key stakeholders. Monitor Compliance with Updates: Track and report on the implementation of new updates to Technical Guidance to ensure compliance and deliver consistent results across regions. Special Projects: Lead and manage special projects, including initiatives related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) innovation. Candidate Requirements: Degree in Architectural Technology or a related field Advanced proficiency in CAD, with a preference for Revit experience Project management experience, with a strong focus on stakeholder management Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
