Are you an Experienced HR Professional with excellent knowledge and experience in Complex Case Management? We have an opportunity for an HR Case Manager to work in an office/hybrid-based role close to Chester.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
1. Support and guide managers on complex matters, such as capability, serious conduct, employee relations, suspensions, and investigation management. This includes reviewing investigation reports and complex letters or communications.
2. Be an expert in your field and provide a professional, proactive, telephone and written HR advisory service to managers at all levels across the business.
3. Be a point of contact providing active support to managers in the day-to-day case management of serious/complex employment issues while considering the commercial constraints of the business and the legal framework.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/TASKS
1. Responsible for managing a portfolio of HR cases, scheduling and prioritising activities based on the needs of each case and applicable deadlines or timescales.
2. Be a support mechanism within the wider HR team; liaise and develop effective working relationships with wider stakeholders.
3. Provide over-the-phone and face-to-face support to Managers or act as HR lead on complex people matters, including hearings and appeals within nationwide locations.
4. Review and prepare letters/documents in readiness for and after formal hearings and provide feedback to Managers where required.
5. Record cases accurately on the Case Management System and ensure cases are managed proactively and driven through to conclusion.
6. Take every opportunity to coach managers in aspects of people management including communication, robust decision-making, fairness, consistency, and application.
7. Ensure good employment practice through the provision of clear advice and guidance in line with Iceland's HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
8. Adopt a pragmatic approach in offering solutions to managers, while recognising legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Work autonomously whilst using your initiative, on delegated work areas and seek advice from senior colleagues when required.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
1. Proven track record of managing a range of complex HR cases.
2. Demonstrable, comprehensive up-to-date working knowledge of UK employment law and legislation and its implications for employers.
3. Confident communication with people at all levels, with a style that is clear, engaging, coaching, and collaborative.
4. Demonstrate strong partnership working with a variety of stakeholders.
5. CIPD qualified (ideally Level 5 - 7).
6. Experience in applying a commercial and pragmatic approach to providing HR risk-based solutions.
7. Ability to work flexibly in an agile way to meet deadlines and respond positively and constructively to feedback.
8. Can evidence-building capability within a coaching framework.
9. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
