Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and Friday 08.00 - 16.00).

We’re on the lookout for a friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police Transport Department.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police Transport Department are seeking skilled, highly motivated Vehicle Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles. The Vehicle Technician should have a strong mechanical knowledge and excellent customer service skills to ensure internal customer satisfaction. The staff, officers, and volunteers of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police are here to ensure the safety of the people we serve, their families, and our communities.
The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure and unsupervised on a variety of cars and vans, including vehicles fitted with police equipment. You must be capable of carrying out the repair process from fault finding to completion, ensuring all vehicle repairs and maintenance to our police fleet are carried out to a high standard.
We currently have a vacancy at our Fareham workshop, where your vehicle maintenance and repair skills will be used to ensure the fleet is kept fully operational. You will be required to work on a variety of fleet vehicles, including high-performance cars for teams such as roads policing and armed response, as well as vans for public order operations. Besides undertaking servicing and repairs and vehicle road tests, you will also be required to carry out basic vehicle fits to ensure they are ready for police use.
