We are seeking a Band 3 Maintenance Assistant.
£24,071 - £25,674 per annum, full time 37.5 hours per week.
The role of Maintenance Assistant will provide a technical and manual service in maintaining the structure of the buildings, on behalf of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust. They will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day maintenance tasks are recognised and completed within a satisfactory timescale. They will liaise with Healthcare Managers and other staff to provide a safe environment for the care of patients.
They will perform work activities that will be non-routine in a variety of different disciplines. The Maintenance Assistant must be committed to being versatile and flexible and they will be expected to undergo training to keep up to date with the Departmental operational requirement. They must also acquire through training, any relevant additional skills required for the post, in an effort to increase their knowledge and versatility.
1. Organise own workload, planning new installations and refurbishments and schedule works.
2. Provide and receive routine and non-routine information to work colleagues, managers, contractors, and customers, exchanging information and offering feedback where required.
3. Undertake a range of work procedures and practices both routine and non-routine, which require an intermediate level of knowledge.
4. Apply concentration while carrying out servicing, testing, and repair on all types of buildings and equipment, where training and certification of competency allow, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary. There may be interruptions for emergencies.
5. Liaise with clinical staff, patients, clients, managers, and customers where appropriate, offering non-clinical advice on the safe use of equipment.
6. Undertake visual surveys and create a plan of required works.
7. Liaise with Facilities Managers and Estates Managers to organise, plan, and prioritise the day-to-day working requirements and carry these out with the minimum of supervision.
8. At all times adhere to Trust and Departmental Policies & Procedures, commenting, proposing, and helping to implement any changes as appropriate.
9. Following a period of training, the post holder must be competent to carry out duties in other craft disciplines to acceptable standards.
