Responsibilities
Identify and manage key dimensional variation across the manufacturing product.
Identify key characteristics that require control.
Analyse pertinent historical manufacturing capability data.
Assess tolerances, datums and GD&T to create an understanding of the assembly relationships and "build-up" of parts that contribute to the variation in the boat's key characteristics.
Create quality plans to control the previously identified key parts and features.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering Planning to establish hold points in the detail process plans.
Identify and validate meteorology.
Create pictorial measurement plans and insert them into the detailed planning for Operations to execute.
Establish standard inspection processes and procedures, to ensure inspection data is robust and valid.
Work closely with Operations to manage key product features throughout the build process, providing dimensional management build-line support where necessary.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline.
Essential Skills
1. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
2. Basic understanding of dimensional measurement systems and principles.
3. Ability to interpret drawings and/or CAD models.
4. Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
