Job Description
The Housing Estate Officer is a key role in our service delivery and the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of properties across their area. You will be part of a small team where you will work both on a desktop and out on the MoD Estate. You will ensure the effective delivery of our two contracts who provide allocation, occupancy management and repair; with your primary focus being on assurance and holding to account.

* Working with partners to achieve positive outcomes and results, putting the needs of families first.
* Undertake Regional Assurance activities on contract deliverables both on the estate and via desktop.
* Consider and process new work requests for the Billable Works Programme including monitoring progress and quality.
* Assist with the development of the Regional Billable Works Plan and wider Headquarters future programmes which helps improve the estate.
* Property inspections to determine condition and inspection of building works.
* Dealing with in occupation queries and working with Suppliers to resolve difficulties.
* Regular customer engagement at all levels.
* Support the Housing Estates Manager with ad hoc business management tasks.
* Attend area and region management meetings and support handovers as directed.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who is able to handle and prioritise workloads according to contract deliverables and risk-based analysis. They will have strong social skills to form relationships that promote collaboration between stakeholders and Industry Partners to support continual improvement. Forward thinking with the ability to see the bigger picture with an awareness of sustainability concepts, able to produce novel ideas that contribute to the 'lived experience'. The Housing Estate Officer will assure contractual performance that supports Service Delivery whilst having the ability to work with agility when difficult situations arise and demonstrate a personal dedication to the DIO Guiding Principles and 'Safety First' value.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of working with industry partners, stakeholders and military colleagues.
* Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
* Full UK Driving Licence. While the position is based at Innsworth, it will include regular travel to our housing estates in Tewkesbury, South Cerney, Corsham and Colerne and some lone working. Transport will be provided through MoD fleet cars. Not all our estates are readily accessible by public transport.

Working Arrangements
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Selection Process
