Main duties of the job
As one of our nursing team, you will be playing a pivotal role within the hospital, not only as a care professional, but also as a mentor and guide to our excellent team of support workers. The role encompasses many different responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
8. Ensuring patient centred care plans are developed, implemented, evaluated and recorded.
9. Working collaboratively as Primary Nurse within the multidisciplinary team, including liaising with associated professionals and other agencies.
10. Facilitating daily hospital activities.
11. Ensuring effective communication with service users, carers, visitors, and staff.
12. Implementing effective use of the Mental Health act where necessary.
13. Maintain a learning environment.
14. Assist with the development and /or revision of local policies and procedures as necessary

Over recent years Baldock Manor has undertaken extensive development work to become the hospital it is today. We have three wards; an 8 bedded female PICU service, an older working age mens 14 bed acute/High dependency unit typically for gentlemen over the age of 45/50 and a similar 10 bedded service for older working age/older age ladies.
Our focus is recovery for our patients with quality care and measurable outcomes at the centre of all we do. Baldock Manor boasts a full MDT with Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology and Occupational Therapy practitioners on site as well as a very able team of Senior support workers, support works, Therapies assistants and more.
Being a smaller hospital gives us the opportunity to coach and mentor our team as well as giving real ability for individuals to take a role in service design and bring their innovative ideas to the fore.
