An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Urology team in a Band 6 role.
This post will report to the Urology Outpatients Manager and work closely alongside the Consultant and ANP team. The successful applicant will join a well-established clinical team with the opportunity to engage in further training and development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessing patients with complex urological disorders.
2. Organising plan of care to include removal of catheters and long-term catheterisation.
3. Liaising with District nursing/Community Nursing Teams.
4. Liaising with MDT regarding patients' plan of care.

Clinical Skills
1. Lead a specialist area of practice, providing expert professional advice to others across the Trust.
2. Perform comprehensive specialist assessment of patients, plan, treat and evaluate care.
3. Communicate complex specialist information to medical colleagues and others.
4. Prioritise patient care, supervising and allocating one's own workload.
5. Perform specialist clinical skills in the treatment and overall management of patient care.
6. Provide a comprehensive specialist service, accepting accountability for the management of the service.
7. Collect, collate, evaluate and report on information, maintaining accurate patient records.
8. Promote patient and public involvement in the improvement of services.
9. Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met.

3. Work with Divisions/Director of Nursing to ensure lessons are learnt from issues arising.

Managerial/Leadership
1. Act as a role model by demonstrating leadership and expertise.
2. Lead and/or participate in meetings relevant to specialist area of practice.
3. Work with Divisions/Director of Nursing in providing managerial support.
4. Ensure effective use of resources.
5. Maintain systems and processes to promote a healthy, safe working environment.
6. Take responsibility for own learning and development.
7. Act as a specialist resource, providing support and guidance across the Trust.
8. Provide advice and specialist training to a range of staff.
9. Initiate and conduct audit activity by monitoring standards of care.
