We are now looking for an Intervenor to join our Intervenor Service in the Devon area, working across various locations such as Poltimore, Bovey Tracy, Exeter, Broadclyst, Plymouth and Ottery St. Mary. It is essential for you to have a full UK license with the use of your own vehicle. We provide 1:1 support to adults who have been born with sight and hearing impairments, known as congenital deafblindness, within their own homes and out in the community. Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities. They provide skilled, perceptive and respectful support, intervening between a deafblind individual and the world. You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals that have dual-sensory impairments, often combined with other disabilities. For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9). This particular role involves supporting someone for 16 hours on a Tuesday and Wednesday, between 10am and 6pm. There may be ability to look to increase these hours in the future.
