The Durham and Darlington CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our dynamic and evolving team. We are a Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team and are looking for a Clinical Specialist to support the team in delivering high quality assessments to children and young people aged 0-19.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a high standard of clinical leadership to the team as well as the multi-agency team. The post holder will ensure clinical standards are maintained in the delivery of care across all aspects of the service.
The post holder will need excellent communication skills to lead and deliver on ongoing service development. Communicate with other stakeholders and share joint decision making.
The post holder will need to be skilled in the assessment of children with the ability to differentiate other potential factors such as attachment.
To apply for this role you will have a detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice. Neurodevelopmental Assessment is a growing agenda nationally and, thus, there is a high demand across County Durham and Darlington. Having the skills and confidence to manage a high pressure role involving reporting directly to commissioners and the Trust senior managers is an essential part of this role.
Providing specialist knowledge and support to the team and wider multi-agency colleagues is also integral. We are passionate about the delivery of high quality services that promote and improve the wellbeing of children and young people.

Job responsibilities
The Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team is part of a wider County Durham and Darlington Neurodevelopmental Pathway. Since our service transition in 2021 we have developed positive relationships with partner agencies across social care, education, health and voluntary sector.
The post holder will work closely with these agencies, screening referrals and making joint decisions about whether they might benefit from a neurodevelopmental assessment as a multi-agency panel.
The post-holder will lead clinicians in high standard neurodevelopmental assessments, take part in MDT huddles and attend complex case discussions with professionals from wider CAMHS teams and external services.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Registration with relevant professional body. (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England)
* For nursing professions - Recognised Practice Supervisor and /or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent and
* Trained in providing clinical supervision
* For other professions - evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice in clinical supervision of other staff and/or students/ trainees.
* All professions - Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice.
* All professions - Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
* Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised advanced clinical qualification or Masters level credits e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP e.g. dysphagia, posture, autism assessment, rebound, social prescribing, sensory processing, Approved Mental Health Professional, Practice Educator (level 3 Independent Prescriber) * Note any other advanced qualification/masters credits not listed here as an example, must be clearly evidenced and listed as advanced qualification or masters credits - within the individuals application form
* And have the Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD
