Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. HCPC Registration
2. Evidence of C.P.D
3. BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree
Desirable criteria
4. Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
5. Member of CSP special interest group
6. Postgraduate study/training related to older people and frailty
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Evidence of working with frail patients, with complex needs which require advanced clinical reasoning
8. Broad experience of working at a band 5 level within the NHS, including experience in rehabilitation
9. Evidence of effective supervision of junior staff
10. Evidence of and desire to supervise students
Desirable criteria
11. Involvement in/ leading QI projects
12. Experience in a community setting
Technical skills/competencies
Essential criteria
13. Ability to assess, manage & treat elderly patients with multi-pathology conditions
14. Ability to recognise a deteriorating patient.
15. Skills in goal setting & evaluating outcome measures
16. Problem solving skills.
17. Reflective practitioner
18. Ability to produce clear written documentation of intervention & reports
19. Therapeutic moving & handling skills at specialist level
20. Ability to prioritise clinical workload.
21. IT Skills within word processing

23. Ability to complete a holistic assessment which may include some Physiotherapist and nursing skills
Knowledge

24. Good knowledge of long term conditions affecting the older person

27. A sound understanding of capacity issues and ability to recognise need for formal assessment
