Position: Level 2 Early Years Practitioner
Location: Outdoor Forest School Nursery, Horsforth
Type: Part-time, 3 days a week (26.5 hours)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting Children's Development: Create a stimulating, safe, and engaging environment for children aged 2-5 years, supporting their emotional, physical, and social development through hands-on outdoor activities.
2. Outdoor Learning: Embrace outdoor learning principles, ensuring that children are encouraged to explore and interact with the natural world, developing skills in communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
3. Planning and Delivering Activities: Plan and deliver age-appropriate outdoor activities that promote learning across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a particular focus on creative, nature-based activities.
4. Child-Centered Approach: Observe, assess, and record children's progress, ensuring that their individual needs and interests are met while maintaining a child-centered approach to learning.
5. Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times, maintaining a high standard of care and adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
6. Collaboration with Team: Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure a positive, supportive, and cooperative working environment.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualifications: You must hold a Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
2. Passion for the Outdoors: A genuine love for outdoor learning and a deep understanding of how nature can inspire and support young children's development.
3. Creative Mindset: The ability to think creatively and adapt to the needs and interests of the children in your care, ensuring that learning is fun, engaging, and inspiring.
4. Experience: Experience of working in an early years setting, ideally in an outdoor or forest school environment, though we are open to applicants with a strong passion for outdoor learning.
5. Child-Centered Approach: Strong communication and observational skills, with a commitment to meeting the individual needs of each child.
6. Team Player: A friendly and flexible approach, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the overall development of the setting.
7. Commitment to Safeguarding: A good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

Working Hours:
