This is a unique opportunity for someone to provide a crucial role in ensuring that individuals with mental health issues receive comprehensive care that includes their physical health needs and considers the importance of wellbeing interventions.
You will be working in partnership with other healthcare providers to deliver holistic care that addresses both mental and physical health needs. You will be facilitating access to healthy lifestyle options, such as smoking cessation programmes, physical exercise and relaxation therapy.
Main duties of the job
* Actively encouraging and improving the health and wellbeing of people who use in-patient services at the Rochford Hospital.
* Working as a member of the Occupational Therapy team to deliver a variety of therapeutic activities.
* Facilitating access to healthy lifestyle options, such as smoking cessation programmes, physical exercise and relaxation therapy.
* Collaborating with other members of the MDT.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To work autonomously formulating exercise and wellbeing programmes for patients staying on the wards.
* To assess, instruct and supervise people in both individual and group exercises.
* To independently plan appropriate exercises and wellbeing programmes according to individual needs.
* To engage and coach individuals around their health and lifestyle and promote positive behaviour change.
* To develop and maintain local networks with statutory, voluntary and private organisations to support individual patients in their ongoing recovery and independence.
Person specification
Qualification and knowledge
* Formal education/training relevant to the post
* Specialist knowledge of mental health conditions
* Specialist knowledge of physical health and wellbeing interventions
Experience
* Experience of physical health interventions
* Experience of working with adults with mental health needs
