Qualifications/Training
Essential Criteria
* General medical Qualification e.g. MBBS, or equivalent and hold a Licence to Practise.
Experience
Essential Criteria
* A minimum of twelve years of clinical working experience post basic medical qualification (MB BS) and four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in Psychiatry or as a fixed term specialty trainee in Psychiatry.
* At least 2 years of working experience in Community CAMHS at specialist doctor level is desirable.
* Section 12/AC approval is preferred, or the applicant would need to commit to obtaining this within the first year post recruitment.
Clinical Skills

* High levels of competence in diagnosis, risk assessment, care planning, and prescribing.
Leadership Skills
Essential Criteria
* Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team.
* Able to prioritise work to meet competing clinical demands.
Organisational Skills
Essential Criteria
* Have good organisational skills and able to organise own work.
Teamwork
Essential Criteria
* Understand principles of multi-disciplinary team working.
* Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a team and to liaise effectively with colleagues within the hospital.
Clinical Governance
Essential Criteria
* Understand and actively support the principles of Clinical Governance including audit and outcome measures.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of continuing professional development needs and revalidation.
Management Skills
Essential Criteria
* Understand the importance of working with managers in the interest of good patient care.
Self-Awareness
Essential Criteria
* Understand their strengths and weaknesses and how these attributes affect professional functioning.
* Knowledge of the stress/stressors involved in being a specialist doctor and how to manage these appropriately and understand the importance of seeking support at the right time.

* Demonstrate a good understanding of how to work in partnership with patients and carers.
