In support of the Cardiac Theatre manager, the post holder contributes and actively participates in the smooth running of the two cardiac theatres and one hybrid theatre. The post holder is a confident and competent practitioner responsible under supervision for providing effective, safe, research-based patient care.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist and support the theatre manager in the effective management of the department in accordance with the Trust's Personnel Policies and Procedures.
2. Coordinate daily departmental activities and maximize department resource potential with supervision from senior staff.
3. Plan own workload and that of other junior staff effectively.
4. Assist in monitoring budgetary expenditure in relation to the care centre and theatre department, identifying and applying cost-efficient practices.
5. Responsible for documentation of peri-operative details in the integrated pathway, facilitating collaboration between members of the multidisciplinary team in delivering patient care.
6. Ability to safely transfer patients post-surgery to the ward or high dependency unit.
7. Establish and maintain effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
8. Act as the patient's advocate, respecting patient privacy and dignity.
9. Communicate and interact with other departments within the cardiac unit.
