Our ideal candidate Our ideal person will have a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role. What does the role involve? The main focus of the role will be to ensure the efficient operation of the Gym under the supervision of the Fitness Manager. A hands-on role that requires you to: Carry out welcome visits with new customers. Deliver group exercise classes. Supervise junior gym sessions and provide support to younger members. Work practically with members to tailor personalised fitness programmes to their individual needs. Proactively engage with members on classes, forthcoming events, promotions and gym challenges. Help and assist members with questions and queries. Ensure the gym and fitness equipment is kept clean and in a safe condition. Carry out any other tasks as required by the Fitness Manager Qualifications: Gym Instructor Qualification Level 2 or Higher (Essential) First Aid Qualification (Desirable) Personal Trainer Level 3 (Desirable) Emergency Response Training (Desirable) Skills and competencies: Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills Self-motivated Ability to work under pressure A flexible approach to work Ability to work on own initiative Excellent team working skills What you can expect from us: A comprehensive induction and training programme; you don’t need to have worked in the leisure industry before.
