This is an exciting opportunity to join the David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Service working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide person centred Learning Disability/ Mental Health Nursing provision.
David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Services provide support for people who live in residential services and students who access educational services. We are dedicated to improving the quality of lives for people with learning disabilities and or autism, epilepsy, complex learning disorders, including neurological impairments, and other complex support needs. The people we support ages range from 11- to end of life. We have a successful track record, built up over 120 years with expertise and are rated as GOOD by the CQC. Supporting the Specialist Support Nurses, you will help shape the future development of the Learning Disability / Mental Health Nurse services to meet the needs of the people we support.
The successful candidate will:-
• Hold a recognised Learning Disability Nursing / Mental Health Degree Qualification (or equivalent)
• Registered member Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
• Demonstrate experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills.
• Demonstrate a successful track record for enhancing and improving outcomes for people with complex disabilities as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills
• Be able to manage a caseload and prioritise with support and have the ability to problem solve and plan ahead
• Be able to work on own initiative and possess excellent time management skills
• Have a good working knowledge of IT applications
• Ideally have previous involvement in Audit
• Ideally have experience of delivering training
