They are seeking an experienced Print Finishing Manager or Supervisor to report into the Works Manager. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills and have a strong operational background in commercial print finishing. You will motivate a team of operators, manage workflow, and ensure productivity and quality. The role involves operating printing machinery, including folding machines, laminators, cylinder presses, and stitching machines. Dealing with:
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of 6 print finishing operators, working across different shifts
* Working on Folding Machines (MBO), Laminators (Autobond), Cylinder Presses (Heidelberg) and Stitching Machines (Müller-Martini)
* 80% of the role involves hands-on print finishing work; 20% will be supervisory duties, including team management and quality control
* Operate print finishing machines and ensure the highest standards of quality
* Decision-making on job quality, production efficiency, and workflow
* Ensure all jobs meet internal quality control standards
* Manage the print finishing department during peak and off-peak periods
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
* Ensure timely completion of print projects, including occasional overtime)
What We’re Looking For:
* Ideally 5 years of print finishing experience (required)
* Print stitch experience is essential
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
* Proven leadership skills with a hands-on approach to managing workflow
* Willingness to work overtime when required
* Solid experience with commercial litho print finishing processes
* Experience in folding and stitching within a commercial print environment (ideally with Müller stitching line)
* Experience with educational print (preferred)
* Familiarity with paper and card printing techniques
