An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Finance team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for an experienced Management Accountant.

Working hybridly (minimum two days per week on site), the post holder will be part of a team providing financial management advice and support for the Trust. This post will have responsibility for the provision of financial advice to managers within the Clinical and/or Corporate Directorate structure including our subsidiary company Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF).
The post holder will adopt a modern, proactive and dynamic approach to ensure the efficient and effective use of financial resources. The post holder will provide appropriate financial performance management and business planning information relating to their activities and budgets that are integral to the achievement of the objectives and targets set by the Trust.

Main duties of the job
1. Take the lead in the preparation and presentation of budgets for a range of areas across the Corporate Services Directorate and Diagnostic Services.
2. Assist with the calculation of budgets as part of the annual budget setting process and the production of the opening budgets.
3. Produce timely and accurate monthly budget reports.
4. Investigate and identify the causes of budget variances.
5. Produce forecast information.
6. Engage proactively with budget holders and other Trust colleagues.
7. Provide advice and support for the development of business cases.
8. Help the Trust with budgetary control by working proactively with budget holders and meeting on a regular basis, establishing key working relationships with finance and non-finance areas.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will ensure that financial information is processed in accordance to specific deadlines and complies with internal procedures and accounting principles. The holder will work closely with budget holders to investigate complex enquires and will advise on financial issues.

Person Specification
Experience
* Educated to degree level, NVQ level 4 or equivalent professional experience.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and numeric skills including attention to detail.
* Excellent Excel/MS Office skills.
* Organisational planning abilities.
* Ability to work both independently and as a team.
* AAT, studying towards CCAB qualifications.
* NHS experience.
* Oracle and Reach knowledge.
