A Qualified Newborn Hearing Screener is required to join our friendly team to cover a period of Maternity Leave.
The successful candidate will participate in the provision of hearing screening in Newborn babies within the Wirral area, under the supervision of the Hearing Screening Team Leader.
The post holder will carry out the hearing screening of babies within the Post-Natal Ward, Delivery Suite, NICU and outpatient departments.
Following the screening test, data will be transferred onto the NHSP data base (S4H).
Ensure accurate test results are given to parents and other Health Care professionals as required and notes are completed.
Arrange referrals to Audiology Department for diagnostic testing when appropriate and deal sensitively with any parental concerns

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have an enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months.
As this vacancy is within the division of Women’s and Children’s, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
