On behalf of a client, who’s growing at pace, we are looking for a capable and experienced Management Accountant. As the successful applicant, you will be a key player in the growth and evolution as the business transitions to becoming a medium-sized enterprise. As a relatively young organization, we are looking for someone comfortable taking complete responsibility for day-to-day financial operations, not afraid of the detail, and happy to work alongside the external accountants on areas that are currently outsourced. You will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for leading the financial operations as the business transitions to the next phase of growth.
This role is a tremendous opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Manager looking to join a rapidly growing organization and build a career that could progress to a senior leadership role.
Typical tasks might include
* Preparing and posting month-end journals, and undertaking day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including prepayments and accruals.
* Regular reconciliation of control accounts, tracking cash flow and keeping the Balance Sheet up to date.
* Managing the Fixed Asset register, and tracking depreciation across multiple asset types.
* Close liaison with asset owners to track disposals, manage hardware refresh cycles and support insurance cover - both from a bookkeeping perspective and for capital expenditure forecasting.
* Ad-hoc support to budget-holders preparing and tracking their budgets.
* Performing variance analyses of actual vs. forecast, monitoring for deviations from the plan and being able to flag the impact of these.
* Managing employee out-of-pocket expenses review and reimbursement rhythm.
* Managing company credit card expenses and reconciliation.
* Arranging the prompt payment of supplier invoices.
* Coordinating monthly payroll and quarterly VAT returns, ensuring payments are made on time.
* Proactively proposing process improvements to support best accounting practice, and increased efficiencies within the business.
* Implementing and maintaining financial processes, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legal regulations and accounting standards.
* Coordinating timely and accurate quarterly Corporation Tax payments.
* Close liaison with the Executive team so that the current and forecasted financial position is known and understood and use subject matter expertise to advise on the financial implications of proposed courses of action.

Your experience
* While we are always open to new skills and backgrounds, we expect the successful candidate to hold a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
* Possess relevant and recent experience covering most of the typical tasks listed above.
* Advanced working knowledge of Excel, including proficiency with pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, index functions, etc.
* Ability to apply subject matter expertise to ensure we manage cash flow effectively and make the most of our financial resources.
* Experience with accounting software (QBO experience ideal).
* Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with superb attention to detail and precise time management.
* A track record of successful relationship management - staff, suppliers, external professional services, or other stakeholders.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to explain complex financial concepts to individuals without a finance background.
* An ability to independently manage multiple streams of responsibility, prioritizing tasks according to varying deadlines.
* Liaising with external auditors, identifying and implementing appropriate process and policy improvements.
