We are a leading local Charitable organisation and we are now seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our busy housekeeping team, which is based in a Camberley nursing home whilst our new facility is being built. Our housekeepers are an essential part of our team not only for the housekeeping but also maintaining a positive and friendly atmosphere for our patients and their families. Previous experience of similar work in a similar environment such as a hospital, nursing home or care setting is preferred but not essential. The role provides in house training for the successful candidate and is available to start asap to cover sickness for a minimum of 4 weeks but this is likely to be extended. We can offer weekly pay and paid holiday accrual, on site parking and this role would be an excellent opportunity to join a reputable organisation and secure an income in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
We can offer full or part time working patterns as we operate our site over a 7 day rota. We offer a standard pay rate Mon to Fri with weekend shifts paid at time and a half on Saturday and double time on Sunday regardless of any other hours worked. Working hours are 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday, (phone number removed)pm on a Saturday and 7.30am-1.30pm on a Sunday. We are flexible on what days and hours are worked as long as the hours worked are at least 20 hours per week across a minimum of 3 days and worked within the core hours stated above. You will be paid £11.45p/h Monday to Friday, £17.17p/h Saturday and £22.90p/h Sunday exclusive of holiday pay, with free onsite parking.
The main purpose of the role is to monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness of the environment with the ability to carry out the requirements of the job or a range of related jobs requiring light physical effort. The responsibilities of the Housekeeping Assistant role are as follows:
• To ensure all surfaces are visibly clean and free from dust, dirt and debris and that appropriate cleaning agents and equipment are used.
• To ensure appropriate protective clothing is worn, including uniform and footwear.
• To ensure cleaning is carried out in a manner and a time that causes minimum disruption.
• To ensure spillages and hazards are removed with minimal delay.
• To ensure equipment and materials are returned to the appropriate storage place.
• To ensure requests from patients and families are checked with clinical staff and that any concerns are passed on to nursing staff.
• To ensure food and beverages are served in an appropriate and safe manner in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
The successful candidate for the Housekeeper vacancy will have the following:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
• Some experience of similar work an be happy in a predominately cleaning role.
• Ability to support clinicians.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ideally hold a current enhanced DBS albeit this is not essential as we can process a DBS check along with the other background checks required which include a work reference and proof of right to work in the UK
