Who we’re looking for: We are looking for inclusive design professionals to join our team of talented and experienced inclusive design consultants on a flexible or permanent basis. You will have a background in accessible and inclusive design in the built environment yourself and are keen to help us deliver inclusive design projects for our clients, in the UK and globally, and in a variety of sectors. Our work aims to transform spaces and lives through beautifully designed, inclusive environments that deliver independence for anyone with a disability or in need of extra support. If this sounds of interest to you and you have just some of the required skills and experience, we would love to hear from you and encourage you to apply What you’ll be doing: Detaile d inclusive design audits of buildings and the public realm Appraisals of project plans and CAD drawings presenting proposed improvements Inclusive design and access reports, statements and management plans, presentations and publications End of RIBA work stage reports, representing Motionspot’s inclusive design principles Research into rel evant accessibility building regulations, inclusive design standards and leading best practice design guidance User-group engagement and workshops to support Motionspot’s evidence-based approach Presentations and meetings with clients, professionals and suppliers Training and thought leadership content, and helping to generate new business opportunities for the company To be successful in this role, you should bring: A passion for inclusive design of the built environment, and an interest in wider inclusion topics, covering all protected characteristics under the Equality Act, 2010 Degree/qualification in the built environment, accessible design, or another relevant field (architecture, interior design or similar) NRAC Consultant status or working towards NRAC accreditation and/or IAAP qualification Working knowledge of relevant national and/or international legislation, codes, building regulations as well as best practice guidance and demonstrable experience in working with and interpreting them Existing knowledge of RIBA stages and/or application of the RIBA Inclusive Design Overlay Passion for innovation and futureproofing developments coupled with an ability to share this effectively with others and push boundaries Business acumen, spotting opportunities and bringing a commercial approach to projects Experience of working with existing data, carrying out research and producing evidence and summarise findings, inform and develop solutions with the ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports, including but not limited to access audits and design appraisals Excellent communication and accurate writing skills with attention to detail and an eye for beautiful graphics and design Strong organisational, time and project management skills Ability to multitask and undertake work across several projects at the same time; Existing Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite skills Prior industry and best practice knowledge and a desire to accelerate trends and push for change Understanding of AutoCAD and the ability to create designs of advantage Permanent applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
