Serco Defence deliver a range of services and products to our customers and the MOD, which include the maintenance and training on Radar systems at several sites across the UK and Falkland Islands. Within this team, we are currently recruiting for a Radar Trainer to be responsible for providing maintainer training to the Air Defence Radar team to enable them to maintain radar systems providing high availability to the customer.
Additionally, the Radar Trainer Maintainer will provide training to RAF operators to enable them to understand and input radar processing into the radar systems to deliver an operational picture to Aerospace controllers.
The role will require UK and overseas travel to carry out required training.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
* Carry out needs analysis for the development of training courses for operators and maintainers working alongside OEM engineers and training staff.
* Design and deliver training to RAF Radar Operators and Serco Radar Maintainers.
* Deliver on-the-job training packages for radar maintainer site personnel.
* Help with installation and maintenance of Air Defence Radar systems.
* Carry out course maintenance ensuring that courses remain up to date and relevant.
* Work with customer training agencies to schedule the delivery of training courses to customer personnel.
* Work within the team to ensure compliance with training and maintenance standards.
What you’ll need to do the role:
* Hold a recognised Electronics and Electrical qualification.
* Hold a training qualification (military or civilian).
* Experience of training delivery.
* Sound knowledge of course design and course maintenance.
* Understanding of needs analysis and technical services.
* Strong organisational and timekeeping skills.
* Innovative thinker.
* Must be able to achieve SC/DV security clearance; Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
