North Lanarkshire Council is the largest social landlord in Scotland with 36,000 tenants. This post sits within the finance function providing support to the Housing service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage various payment methods and ensure the smooth running of daily Direct Debit processes.
2. Ensure effective controls are in place to identify and correct errors or omissions in a timely manner.
3. Contribute towards the administration and maintenance of the rent accounting system including updates, development, and testing.
4. Produce periodic rent and asset management information.
5. Supervise, direct, and train Income Assistants.
Minimum Requirements:
To carry out this role you must be educated as a minimum to an HNC/SVQ3 level or equivalent and have extended experience in a busy finance/administration environment. Excellent Excel and Word skills are essential along with analytical and interrogation skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should be a confident, self-motivated individual with good communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
Experience of HSMS – Housing Rent Accounting system, Direct Debit and BACS processes, and knowledge of other finance-related systems such as general ledger or debtors are desirable.
The post will follow the hybrid model of home-working and office-based work in the Civic Centre, Motherwell.
Work Pattern – 17.5 hours
