Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join an exceptional SEMH school in the OL6 area. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role is to start ASAP and offers the opportunity for a permanent position based on performance. The school is committed to providing a supportive and positive environment for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and as a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in their journey to success.
About the Teaching Assistant Role:
* As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils who have a range of SEMH needs, offering support and guidance to ensure they engage and succeed.
* You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping students overcome learning barriers while promoting emotional development.
* The Teaching Assistant will assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and work closely with the class teacher to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
* You will contribute to developing individualised learning plans, helping students build self-confidence and achieve their academic potential.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential).
* Be patient, empathetic, and resilient in the face of challenges.
* Have a proactive, flexible approach to supporting students and colleagues.
* Possess excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
* Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (desirable but not essential).
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Two professional references covering the last three years.
* A strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of students with SEMH needs.
* Experience working in an educational or similar setting is advantageous.
