Why is the role important?
The People Advisor role delivers a range of people services across the business including providing advice and support on people matters and policy, undertaking casework, preparing reports and documentation, supporting projects and initiatives and ensuring data integrity.
What’s involved?
* Advise on a range of people matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management and capability, family leave, restructures/redundancy/severance and workforce planning etc.
* Attend hearings as the HR panel member for cases including disciplinary and grievances.
* Support and advise managers and staff to resolve employee relations issues; advising on policies and procedures and responding to queries.
* Provide wellbeing support to staff, including welfare calls on a need basis, signposting to support services, and covering the sick line on a rota.
* Manage casework and provide advice to managers on absence, family leave, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance issues.
* Provide guidance and support to managers in the completion and processing of Job Evaluation Questionnaires and Job Profiles.
* Ensure effective People processes are carried out to performance standards in relation to Recruitment, providing managers with a long list and supporting managers where required.
* Input, check and maintain HR data integrity, including in relation to absence, providing and analysing organisational data, and reporting on agreed KPI’s and EDI data as required.
* Process employee and contractual changes including starters, leavers, fixed term contracts and variations, ensuring people processes are carried out effectively, accurately and that payroll deadlines are met.
* Support policy reviews and best practice to ensure the cultural shift is moving at pace to modernise the organisation.
* Ensure Equality, Diversity & Inclusion is at the forefront of all decisions, inclusive language is used consistently and we celebrate differences.
* Ensure all Health & Safety issues identified are reported and appropriate learning where required is shared.
