Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery located in North Lincolnshire is a key asset for the Prax Group and is a world-class supplier of quality fuels. Constructed in 1968, it has the capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (up to 113,000 barrels a day) and currently employs around 450 staff in addition to a similar complement of contract personnel. The refinery extends over 500 acres and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline.
To meet future demands, Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery is developing a next generation refinery with an unwavering commitment to decarbonise and reduce our CO2 released into atmosphere as the site transitions to become a leading, low carbon refinery. We are investing heavily for the long-term and are actively looking for new talent that can support our journey.
We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Engineer, reporting to the Technical Authority Environment within our HSEQI Department. Working as part of the Environmental Team, the successful candidate will actively liaise with, and support, the business teams and other departments to ensure compliance with our environmental management system, the environmental permit requirements and ISO14001.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Monitors developments in environmental legislation, regulations, issues, concerns and understanding relevant to the company.
2. Representing the site at relevant discipline meetings providing specialist advice in role.
3. Supports the business teams regarding regulatory compliance.
4. Works with key stakeholders to ensure that the appropriate decisions for adjustments and corrective actions arising from environmental monitoring are in place.
5. Responsible for advising and directing all environmental matters throughout the site.
6. Ensuring that the site complies with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice and policies, including for TAR.
7. Co-ordinates the long / medium term environmental compliance strategy.
8. Manages PLOR CO2 emissions monitoring for UKETS emissions trading scheme purposes including communications with the EA and performing transactions in the UK Registry.
9. Identifying energy saving opportunities and supporting energy projects and ESOS reporting.
10. Provide information necessary for the calculation and reporting of BREF performance.
11. Ensure compliance with EA reporting requirements for quarterly and annual returns.
12. Developing the sites Environmental Management Plan and monitoring the organisations progress against the plan.
13. Responsible for Performing Envids.
14. Responsible for coordinating updates to the sites Aspects and Impacts Register.
15. Responsible for meeting the organisations reporting requirements under the Large Combustion Plant (LCP) Directives.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
1. Graduate in Chemical Engineering
2. Chartered Engineer (holding or working towards accreditation).
3. Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
4. NEBOSH certificate in Environmental Management (holding or working towards).
5. Acting as part of the site Crisis Management Team & assume role as per the Onsite Emergency Response Plan.
6. Lead Incident Investigations (Incidents, Accidents, Near misses, Learning Events including Permit exceedances).
7. Preparation and submission of Part A notification reports to the Environment Agency.
8. Preparation and submission of Part B reports to the Environment Agency.
9. Supports Incident Investigations (Incidents, Accidents, Near misses, Learning Events including Permit exceedances).
