Our client, a well-recognised international trade association, is currently recruiting for an Auditor based at their head offices in Ashford, Kent.
The Role
The Auditor works across the Quality Department and Corporate Membership Services Department, focusing on internal and third-party audit services. They play a key role in ensuring that the association's established third-party audit programme remains effective, robust, and professional. They will identify key areas for improvement in audit processes and procedures, recommend solutions, and drive positive change where approved. They will also be involved in hosting audits by independent third-party accreditation bodies, e.g., UKAS.
Education/Qualifications/Experience required:
1. Degree or equivalent professional or vocational qualification.
2. Hold a recognised professional Internal Auditor qualification (essential).
3. Hold a recognised professional Lead Auditor qualification (essential).
4. Member of a professional audit-related body (e.g., IRCA/CQI) (preferable).
5. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a lead audit role.
6. Strong experience of audit methodologies and techniques, including audit planning, scheduling, resource allocation, audit report writing, and identification/classification of audit outcomes.
7. Strong experience in the performance of third-party (independent) audits.
8. Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and QMS software.
9. Experience of continuous improvement methodology.
10. Experience in collating, analysing, and presenting data and metrics.
11. Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical standards and reports.
12. Experience in process mapping.
13. Good numeracy and statistical analysis skills.
14. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
15. Ability to prioritise workload, exercise good time management, and meet deadlines.
16. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
17. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with staff at all levels, including senior colleagues.
18. Experience in providing training to personnel.
19. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
20. Proficient in verbal and written English.
21. Experience in supervision and/or management of a team.
22. Familiarity with risk assessments.
23. Experience of working with external quality assurance agencies, professional bodies, and/or collaborative partners.
24. Excellent IT skills, including the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet, video conferencing, and virtual learning environments.
25. Working knowledge of ISO 19011.
26. Experience of ISO 17024 and ISO 17021 (advantageous).
