An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse to join our nurse-led team within the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic and the Department of Scheduled Admissions on regular, rotational basis. We are seeking a candidate with extensive surgical experience in a high-demand setting such as surgical, perioperative, or intensive care environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing attendance, performance, and conducting appraisals for their team additionally to day to day CNS role. A strong understanding of NHSG policies and procedures is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage a team of staff, ensuring high standards of care and professional development. • Undertake in-house training to develop competencies in physical examination and anaesthetic assessments. • Utilize IT systems relevant to the acute care sector for patient management and documentation. • Administer IV medications, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic prepares patients across multiple surgical specialties, ensuring they are optimized for elective surgery. The Scheduled Admissions Unit provides a calm environment for patients admitted on the day of their procedures. This is a busy, high-volume department aligned with government waiting time targets and ongoing service improvements. The ideal candidate will be diligent, resilient, and able to work under pressure. They will bring: • Proven ability to work autonomously within their scope of practice. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Willingness to contribute to teaching and mentoring of nursing and medical students. • Prior leadership experience is advantageous.
