We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team and make a real impact. About the Role As an HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting students, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. You will also work one-to-one with a Year 7 pupil who presents challenging behaviour, using tailored strategies to keep them engaged and progressing in school. A key aspect of this role involves incorporating sports-based interventions such as rugby, football, tennis, and basketball to help motivate and inspire students. If you have a background in sports or prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, this could be the perfect opportunity for you Key Responsibilities ✅ Assist the class teacher in planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons, ensuring they meet the needs of all students. ✅ Provide targeted support to students with additional learning needs, both in small groups and one-to-one. ✅ Implement intervention strategies to support students’ academic and social development. ✅ Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. ✅ Support the management of student behaviour using effective techniques tailored to individual needs. ✅ Help with the administration and coordination of assessments, ensuring accurate records of student progress. ✅ Participate in professional development opportunities to continually enhance your skills. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: ✔ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher. ✔ Previous experience supporting students at primary or secondary level. ✔ Strong understanding of the national curriculum and inclusive teaching strategies. ✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. ✔ A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students’ academic and emotional well-being. Requirements: Enhanced DBS clearance (registered on the update service or willingness to apply). EWC registration (or willingness to apply). Ability to provide two recent references.
