About the role: VisNet Monitoring is one of EA Technology’s fastest growing businesses. Its award winning hardware and software products are scaling rapidly, to provide visibility, insights and restore power to substations across the UK and beyond. In this role, you will oversee the entire QA function across the VisNet Monitoring business. Responsible for the strategic direction, vision and overall management of the QA department. Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems and activities. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Lead a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training and performance management. Identify areas for improvement within the organisation and implement strategies for continuous quality enhancement. Drive innovation in quality assurance practices and methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality into all phases of the product lifecycle. Establish and measure processes to address product regulatory and certification standards. Develop and maintain quality documentation, including policies, procedures and audits. Manage risk by identifying potential quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions What we’ll need from you: Engineering background, with QA experience of having led quality processes in a hardware and software environment. Hardware is essential. Responsible for aligning QA activities with the strategic goals and objectives of the business. Experience influencing product development and release processes to ensure high quality deliverables. Demonstrated experience working with products where accuracy and reliability are critical and errors could necessitate a product recall. Proven experience working within a regulated environment, with a strong understanding of navigating and adhering to ISO standards and similar regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing processes and policies aimed at driving and maintaining high-quality standards across products and operations. A proven ability to build strong relationships and gain buy-in across teams by fostering collaboration and trust with the ability to also influence and inspire teams to prioritise quality rather than enforcing compliance in a way that adds unnecessary burden.
