The Department Our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team specialises in providing bespoke solutions for clients in all forms of litigation, arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Our expert team of legal advisors and support staff across the department are known for their ability to handle complex matters involving multiple issues. The team works on all types of disputes and for a range of clients,including working with large corporate clients, smaller businesses, entrepreneurs, schools, and individuals. The range of work is diverse includingcontractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, professional and other forms of negligence, insolvency, education law, regulatory and corporate defence, construction, contentious property issues for landowners, landlords or tenants and contentious trust and probate. Our department is experienced in handling high-value as well as high-volume cases. The Role Provide a quality, tailored and supportive legal service to a range of clients. Assist current clients with their specific needs in Dispute Resolution & Litigation. Assist Senior Lawyers with their caseload and develop own portfolio of clients. Main Responsibilities Working specifically in the area of Insolvency, you will be responsible for managing a mixed caseload of client matters. Providing clients with high quality, proactive legal advice, which meets client needs. Achieving the firm’s fee targets and assisting and enabling others in the team to do so. Displaying excellent file management skills to meet the needs of the business. Delivering legal services in a manner which is cost-efficient for both the client and the firm. Maximising the use of technology to enhance performance. Enhancing the firm’s reputation and position within the community by developing a professional reputation, participating in professional and community activities to support the firm. Identifying opportunities for cross referrals and other services whilst going the extra mile to provide excellent client service. Contributing to the firm’s general marketing initiatives by participating in firm’s marketing events including networking, seminars and writing marketing material. Dispute Resolution & Litigation Services Specifically in the area of Dispute Resolution & Litigation, advice and support might include: Acting for a mix of Claimants and Defendants, from obtaining initial instructions through to achieving a resolution to the dispute. Experience of insolvency litigation, preferably in acting for both Insolvency Practitioners and Directors. Maintaining own caseload, obtaining appropriate guidance from Senior Lawyers when required. Maintaining regular billing of client files where appropriate. Advising clients on the funding options available to them. Advising clients on procedure and alternative dispute resolution processes. Identifying and liaising with appropriate experts and Counsel. Undertaking advocacy, when cost effective, at all interlocutory stages. Specialising in particular areas of law, or processes, as required by the Department. Supporting the senior members of the team in their caseloads, including running their cases during periods of absence. Regularly attending networking events and assisting in building up the profile of the firm and in particular, the Department. Keeping up to date with developments in Dispute Resolution & Litigation law and other areas of law relevant to the case law being run. Undertaking any other reasonable duties from time to time allocated to the role.
