Senior Accountant
Our client is a boutique firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors with 50 years history. We are professional, agile, customer-centric and our goal is to build on our enviable reputation for providing excellent advice and first-class service to our business and personal clients alike.
Due to expansion, we are looking for a highly motivated and pro-active qualified accountant. You must be organised, efficient and able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines. You will be responsible for providing a selection of clients with all-round accounting and taxation services.
THIS ROLE OFFERS PROGRESSION TO MANAGEMENT/PARTNER LEVEL FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a portfolio of clients (primarily SMEs with t/o up to £5m) and assist in preparing year-end accounts and tax returns in a timely manner.
2. Produce management accounts and advise on company performance for clients.
3. Coordinate work with outsourcing providers and train and manage junior staff.
4. Solid experience of accounting software such as Iris, Xero, Dext, Quickbooks, and Sage.
5. Liaise with HMRC when required.
6. Ad-hoc company secretarial work for clients.
7. Ad-hoc consultancy projects such as due diligence exercises or company valuations.
Key Skills:
1. ACCA/ACA qualified.
2. A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in practice.
3. Experience in managing client portfolio and turnaround time in-house.
4. Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.
5. Previous experience in preparing self-assessment tax returns will be highly desirable.
