The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an Applications and Development Engineer, to be based out of Northampton for our globally recognised client.
Job Overview:
As Application and Development Engineer, you collaborate with business development to deliver technical solutions to customer inquiries. You will also research and develop new product ideas, designing and testing high-speed machinery, couplings, and test rigs that must be functional, reliable, and safe.
Some of your duties will include:
6. Work with manufacturing, assembly, and testing to build in-house R&D test rigs for product development.
7. Produce innovative designs/ideas and create workable and cost-effective solutions.
8. The ability to conduct test schedules, document the results, and present these findings clearly.
9. Create 3D CAD conceptual designs and 2D drawings.
What do you need to succeed?
10. Engineering degree
11. Background from a highly regulated industry
12. Working knowledge of CAD & PDM and FEA tools (Preference for SolidWorks Ansys Workbench and/or SolidWorks Simulation).
13. Ability to perform hand calculations for preliminary design, sizing, and stress assessment of static and rotating components.
14. Good understanding of Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Metal Fatigue, Rotordynamics, and Vibrations.
