Oakhill Secure Training Centre creates a safe learning environment for children aged 12 to 18, many of whom have faced significant challenges in their lives. We focus of supporting change and learning, helping each child build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve recognised qualifications. Our goal is to equip them with the tools they need to move forward and lead a better life.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be dynamic, resilient, and committed to prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of the children in our care. Every day is different, and flexibility is key, but the reward comes from watching the children progress thanks to your encouragement and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop lesson plans in your specialism to national standards
* Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs
* Provide advice on purchases and developments for up-to-date classes
* Track student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve qualifications
* Manage your environment, ensuring the security of equipment
* Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the site, reporting any accidents or concerns promptly
* Contribute to safeguarding and the overall well-being of the children in our care.
Skills & Knowledge
* Teaching qualification: Essential for delivering high-quality education
* Strong communication skills: Ability to engage and support students effectively
* Excellent planning and organisational skills: Able to plan and organise your lesson plans
* Strong IT skills: Comfortable using technology for education and record-keeping
* Resilience and adaptability: Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
