The Role
As a Lead IT Engineer, you'll take a hands-on approach to managing and driving IT projects from start to finish, ensuring they align with the company’s strategic goals. You'll be actively involved in problem-solving, decision-making, and mentoring team members, helping them grow while keeping projects on track and delivering real impact.
You’ll be:
* Planning and managing IT projects to align with business objectives.
* Allocating resources effectively and prioritising tasks to meet project deadlines.
* Implementing ITIL best practices and aligning with NIST CSF where needed.
* Overseeing project execution, monitoring progress, and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Communicating project updates to stakeholders and addressing concerns proactively.
* Managing and developing IT team members by providing guidance, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
* Fostering a collaborative team environment, promoting communication and teamwork.
* Identifying skill gaps within the team and organising relevant training programs.
* Managing the remote IT asset fleet through MDM systems, ensuring proper deployment and tracking.
* Implementing and maintaining role-based access control within the SSO system.
* Collaborating with other team leads and stakeholders to ensure effective cross-functional alignment and resource utilisation.
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Extensive experience in IT, systems administration, or a similar role.
* Proven experience in managing and mentoring team members.
* Hands-on experience with Google Workspace.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues independently and assist team members.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
* Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and cloud-based technologies.
* Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira Service Desk), identity and access management solutions (e.g., OneLogin), and MDM solutions (e.g., Kandji).
* Familiarity with ITIL principles and experience implementing them.
It’s a bonus if you have:
* Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
* Familiarity with macOS and Windows device management.
* IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL, or related).
