We are seeking a Vice President for our Commercial Investment Bank (CIB) Client Onboarding and Service (COS) Controls Execution team. In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, effective control management is paramount to ensuring organizational resilience and success. Control Execution (ACE) aims to provide comprehensive support and strategic partnership in all things control-related, providing a proactive approach to integrating controls into the broader organizational strategy.
As a Client Onboarding and Service - Advocacy and Control Execution for Product and Transformation - Vice President within the CIB COS team, you will be responsible for aligning end-to-end cross-functional support. You will promote and partner on the execution of the end-to-end agenda, lead governance, and deliver expert advice and guidance on control-related matters. You will collaborate closely with key global and regional partners across Global Corporate Bank (GCB) & Commercial Bank (CB) including Operations, Technology, Product Management, and horizontal functional managers.
Job Responsibilities
* Engage with and conduct regular reviews with leadership, stakeholder committees, or other relevant bodies to validate and assess priorities across the teams.
* Identify potential risks associated with product development and transformation projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
* Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
* Evaluate and continuously improve control processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize control frameworks.
* Share detailed reporting on the control health of the organization, offering insights into current control effectiveness and areas for improvement.
* Lead problem solving and data-driven decision making, inclusive of process design, re-engineering, and target state modelling.
* Provide oversight of the end-to-end system of controls that mitigates risk through active engagement, thematic reviews, risk analysis, and control deep dives which continuously manage and reduce the Business’s residual risk profile.
* Navigate within the organization and align key stakeholders to influence, build consensus, and execute.
* Deliver high-quality, consistent, and meaningful reporting and analytics to identify trends and themes to support business decisions.
* Manage via a mix of direct and matrix team members and help them build/develop the right skills, experience, knowledge, and capacity in support of the above.
* Provide primary control execution responsibilities and oversight for all controls impacting Product and Transformation within the COS organization.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Proven experience in a control, risk management, or compliance role within a product or transformation-focused organization.
* Knowledge and experience with control design and evaluation concepts, risk assessment processes, OKRs, Key Risk Indicators, and other metrics development, and the ability to assess the relevance of internal and external standards and procedures.
* Experience leading proactive and deep dive process reviews, identifying opportunities to improve controls, and leading projects/programs to implement and drive measurable results.
* Ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams.
* Experience working with global teams and managing successful relationships with globally dispersed stakeholders.
* Confident communicator with the ability to provide clear and succinct verbal and written updates for all levels of the organization, including escalation to senior management.
* Solution-oriented, leveraging a network to identify solutions and implement them. Takes responsibility for issues and drives to resolution.
* Proven ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment, requiring flexibility/adaptability to changeable directives.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
* Build and maintain a culture of trust, transparency, and integrity. Advocate for partners across the firm with professionalism.
* Exercise some degree of individual discretion and judgment. Act with urgency, communicate transparently and often, follow up and follow through with an execution mindset.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Payment knowledge.
* Audit, CCOR, and External Regulatory Exam readiness and management experience.
* Training or strategy experience.
* Experience of Product or Transformation.
* Technical and analytical skills/data management quality control experience.
