An exciting position has arisen for an experienced and motivated Podiatrist to join our friendly high risk team in Western Cheshire.
You will be community based with the ability to travel across various sites within a wide geographical area. You will take part in wound care clinics, assessment clinics and high risk maintenance and prevention clinics. You will also carry out nail surgery and biomechanics.
CWP is also very much involved with research and audit if you are interested in this aspect of clinical care.
Informal visits or chats regarding the role are very much welcomed.
37.5 hours per week (flexible and less hours than this can be considered).

Main duties of the job
You will take part in regular clinical supervision and have the opportunity to develop within your chosen specialty. The department is also committed to supporting development with Master's studies and also Independent Prescribing if this piques your interest.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc Degree or equivalent in Podiatry
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council
* Certificate in Local Anaesthesia
* Robust evidence of a high level of skills and post graduate education, training and development in the field of diabetes, off-loading and casting.
* The post requires the specialist to attain the Independent Prescribers qualification.
* Training in Motivational Interviewing
Knowledge and Expertise
* Specialist clinical theory and application to practice in diabetes, offloading and casting
* National and local guidelines and protocols in diabetes, off-loading and casting
* National Outcome Framework
* Current and national legislation for Podiatry
* CWP's aims and objectives in relation to the Podiatry Service
* Understanding of multidisciplinary and integrated working
* Training, presentation and facilitation skills
* Audit, research and development and projects
Experience
* Working under pressure and knowing how to prioritise
* Providing the full scope of Podiatry services
* Having worked in a diabetes specialist area
* Supervising and educating
* Introducing new and innovative interventions
* Involvement in providing a preceptorship.
