Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Family Nurse to join the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Team to work within the city of Bristol. FNP experience is preferable but not essential, as full training will be provided. FNP is an evidenced based home visiting programme for first time mothers. The programme is designed to support and improve the health, wellbeing and social outcomes of young mothers and their children. This is a specialist role which requires high standards of professional practice, excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. The Post holder is required to be a registered Nurse, Midwife or Health Visitor and have experience working in the community and with complex families. A sound knowledge of safeguarding and the Healthy Start Programme is desirable. Please note that this role requires you to be able to travel reliably and independently across the patch. The aim of the programme is to improve the antenatal health, child health and development and parents' economic self-sufficiency in disadvantaged young families. This role is responsible for delivering the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to young parents, most at risk of health inequalities, who are expecting their first baby. Post holders will be required to develop high-level generalist and specialist skills to work within the clinical methods of the structured programme. Family nurses will be expected to develop therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively within complex family situations to achieve the expected outcomes of the programme.
