* Carrying out checks on material removal both Grinding and Polishing.
* Identifying and assessing defects and variations and taking appropriate action
* Work in accordance with safe systems of work including permits, risk assessments and POWRA.
* Oversee Grinding activities and report on issues/completions
* Rough Grinding and Cutting off
* Surface Grinding and Polishing
* Precision Grinding
* Achievement of tasks and targets set by Charge-hand and/or supervisor.
* Produce good quality work to contract / specification requirement
* Ability to guide Grinders and Trainees with their Grinding skills

· CCNSG Valid Site Safety Passport Preferred · IOSH Managing Safe · Knowledge and Skills · A minimum of 2 years experience working as a Grinder. · Sound understanding of Human Performance · Able to use 5", 7", internal grinder and needle gun. · Understanding of profiles and finishes required for UT and general NDT Experience · Experience working within the Engineering Construction Industry on large capital plant such as thermal and nuclear power stations, oil refineries, petrochemical installations, industrial process installations and oil rigs etc. Experience of working on TAR's, outages, projects or new build projects within an engineering construction site environment including experience in one or more of the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Thermal or Nuclear sectors
