Job summary We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Training Officer for the Virology section of the department. You must have experience in Virology and Molecular to help support training for our staff. It would be desirable for you to have experience of training different grades of staff and also be familiar with the Institute of Biomedical Science qualifications. An eye for details and working in an organised manner is crucial to this role. We have different staff at different grades who require support for qualifications, training and competency etc. You would work closely with the Laboratory Manager and the Bacteriology section training officer inorder to ensure all training needs are met and that we are also complying to the requirements of ISO15189 (2022) Main duties of the job The department provides an extensive range of investigations tosupport the specialist patient population of this tertiary referralPaediatric hospital, and also provides a specialist molecular service toother hospitals. This is a vibrant, progressive, well equipped, and a ISO15189 accredited laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a very experienced and dedicated team to gain extra skills and knowledge of Paediatric Microbiology.
