Criminal Solicitor. 3+ PQE. Berkshire, up to c£60,000, flexible leave, cycle to work scheme, hybrid working and continued professional development programmes.
You will have a good grounding in all aspects of criminal law and be passionate about building a private criminal practice. You will manage your own caseload, assist with business development and support junior members of the team.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a varied caseload which includes advising and representing clients in criminal matters.
2. Provide legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
3. Draft legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements, and pleadings.
4. Conduct case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
5. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
6. Advise clients in Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, as well as other tribunals and appellate courts.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory and firm requirements, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality protocols.
8. Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients, conduct case analysis, and collaborate with external professionals such as Barristers, forensic experts, and investigators to build a robust defence.
9. Represent clients in disciplinary tribunals, court proceedings, including bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, plea negotiations, and trials.
