The role:
Admin IT & Business Systems Apprentice
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our IT team as an Apprentice IT Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced and dynamic airport environment, providing essential IT support to our ground handling operations.
What you'll do:
* Provide first-line IT support: Assist staff with basic IT issues, such as password resets, software troubleshooting, and printer problems.
* Maintain IT equipment: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
* Network support: Basic understanding of network infrastructure and assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
* User administration: Create and manage user accounts, ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions.
* Software and hardware inventory: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including software licenses and hardware specifications.
* Intranet support/maintenance & housekeeping.
* SharePoint support/maintenance & housekeeping.
* GDPR Data Protection administration.
What you'll bring to Gatwick Ground Services:
* A genuine enthusiasm for technology and a strong desire to learn and pursue a career in IT.
* A proactive and 'can-do' attitude with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
* Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Excellent timekeeping and attendance, with a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
Your experience:
* Qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English Grade 4.
* Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or support role would be advantageous.
* Specific IT Skills: Familiarity with basic network concepts, printer maintenance, Microsoft 365 usage, mobile device management would be beneficial.
